About the Role

As a Senior Accountant you are a team player, friendly, and eager to accept the next challenge. This is a full-time position based on a 37.5 hours per week at our office in Pincher Creek, Alberta.

What your day will look like

• Prepare Compilation and Review engagement working papers and financial information statements
• Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns
• Prepare Canadian personal tax returns
• Prepare Canadian trust tax returns
• Various correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency regarding inquiries, limited review processed, post-assessments, audits etc.
• Preparation of T4, T4A, T5, T5018 and other slips
• Limited bookkeeping and controller functions
• Prepare or review GST returns
• Prepare Underused Housing Tax Returns
• Train and mentor staff and file reviews; and
• Assist partners as required.

What you need to Succeed

• Hold a CPA designation or be a CPA candidate
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Public Practice CPA firm
• Proficient in CaseWare, Taxcycle, QuickBooks, Sage50, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Reliable with minimal absenteeism
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
