Production Coordinator

Diversified Staffing Services, Alberta's leading staffing agency is currently looking for a Production Coordinator.

Description

Job Duties

•Assist in the development and coordination of production schedules.

•Maintain complete documentation of all aspects of completion of projects.

•Identify, investigate, correct and document potential production problems.

•Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities, with purchasing, production and warehouse departments.

•Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.

•Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met and updated as required.

•Ensure product quality.

•Motivate members through the setting of clear expectations.

  • Coordinate with other supervisors, leads, and managers to obtain maximum use of resources and ensure projects are completed as designed.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
  • Review and assist with development of Bill of Material and routers for specified projects
  • Identify and assist in determining quality and productivity related problems and solutions.
  • Work with warehouse personnel to ensure product delivery to manufacturing personnel
  • Be flexible to change of priorities based on feedback from Project Manager, Production Supervisor and/or Operations Manager
  • Communicating with staff. Providing information to supervisors, and other staff by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Set up sales order and any work orders if required from sale and follow through work order process.
  • Update manpower report bi-weekly on Wednesdays, including any change orders sent from Project Manager
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
  • Continuous improvement process.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of direct work experience in production environment.
  • Experience with ERP Software Global Shop considered an asset.
  • Direct knowledge of MRP production methodologies.
  • Strong inventory and production management skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors,

customers, and internal departments.

  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Production are considered an asset.
  • Should have a good working knowledge of ISO 9000 systems.
  • Highly capable of multi-tasking, with minimal supervision.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
  • Able to interface directly with cross functional teams.
  • Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and audits.
  • Proven problem identification skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
